How to forget the past?

I wish there was a one liner answer to the question above, that we could just apply and get sorted. But is it really necessary to forget the past?
Regardless of the achievements & failure in life, we all grow every single day & the memories are the by products of the process.
No matter how many good memories we have, we tend to remember the not so pleasant or bad ones & this ofcourse makes us human.
There comes a phase, where we know its becoming more bitter, we just want to let ourselves set free from the captivity of the past.
Weโ€™ve all heard it a thousand times,โ€œforgive & forget.โ€ But is this truly how we feel? When someone really hurts us, both forgiving & forgetting seems to be the most difficult task ever, almost impossible!
No doubt forgiving calms you down, helps you to shed that burden that you were carrying, but is it really possible to forget?
My experience screams-No! You can forgive, but never forget & those who says, they can, are good at hiding those bits.

The more you order your brain to forget, the more you automatically get into the details of that unpleasant event & revisit.
The question is, why you need to forget something that was a part of your life? Something that taught you the biggest lessons, made you the stronger person you are today.
The practical approach to overcome the past is to not by searching for a “delete” button that doesn’t exists.

The best way I discovered is to lockup all those memories in the black box of your mind & throw it in the ocean of life. If it ever comes back (which it’ll eventually) just look at the box & remember the lessons learnt, try NOT to repeat them ever! This is the best thing you can do to yourself.

Remember no matter how unpleasant your past was, it taught you that life is full of unexpected events. Your existence is a proof of the immense strength that you own & were completely unaware of it.
Love yourself, that’s the first step to restart your life. Take time to appreciate yourself for facing the life you never thought you can!
It’s not important that whether you’re successful or not, what holds the importance is that you still have the dreamer alive in you, inspite of all odds!
So keep dreaming & stay positive:)👍

True. And we need to move on whatever has happened to us in our past. After all it’s past only which is all history now.
