Life has many ways of telling you that you’re going through a tough time or get ready for a roller coaster ride ahead! Yes, it’s not always the pinky rosy happy world that we all desire for. Life is never the same. This transition is where we all can connect with each other, despite being so different and coming from different walks of life.
What worked for me all these years is a belief and strong thought that there are a million others who are going through the same situation or maybe worst. If not the solution, this mindset instantly gives me a great strength to stay calm and think wisely.
Thinking wisely even in a situation where your mind wants to completely shut down, is something that can show you the light at the end of the tunnel. Once you’re in a situation where you are feeling humiliated, cheated or be it any emotional trauma, the first thing that comes to our minds is – “Why me?”. This leads to self-pity or as I call it – the comfort zone!
Expressing sympathy to oneself is nothing but very comforting, especially when you have no one else to talk to about what happened. But if this continues for a longer time, it will definitely lead you to depression and that’s a path from where to come back to a normal life is very unpredictable and difficult.
There is some harsh truth in life that we have to bear ourselves. Even if you want to, you just can’t share it with anyone else. That’s why in this blog, I want to insist on the power of expression. Express whatever you’re feeling. It may be through a self-talk for hours, write a daily diary or blog your emotions. When you release what’s bottled up inside, nothing much remains inside you. Nothing remains powerful enough to destroy you. This is when you can get some light to look forward, to rely on something more fruitful.
So friends, feel free to share your story here as well because sometimes you want just keen ears and eyes to sooth your wound!
Also remember that you are not alone in this!
Shweta.
You are brave! I don’t have a story to share, but do feel that with positivity comes the courage to tackle problem head-on. Just think about the problems in the world and you would feel yours is too small!
